RKA is an architectural firm involved in the pro-vision of comprehensive services to a wide range of public and private clients in Western Canada. Our belief in hard work, collaboration and commitment are what have ultimately defined our practice for more than 40 years, along with the successful partnerships with our clients.

During our 40 years of practice, RKA's interest and scope of projects has encompassed: acute care hospitals, Long Term Care, seniors' housing complexes, commercial housing, recreational facilities, commercial office buildings, retail space, historical restoration and conversions, and hospitality facilities. We have also designed: facilities for large oil and gas clients over the past several years including housing complexes, recreation centres, controls buildings, administration building, warehouses, and winter camps.

RKA's practice model extends into: development of joint ventures, Design-Build and the P3 format.

We define our success by the delivery of projects that are innovative, sustainable, adaptable, and operationally affordable for our clients.

Roman M. Kujath, MRAIC, AAA, AIA (P), M.ARCH, B.ENG. RETIRED
Roman's career spans a broad range of experience as Principal and founder of firms in Canada, the USA and Europe. His integrated practice approach embodies involvement in every aspect from programming, design and construction including financial feasibility analysis. This has allowed him a high level of control and assurance of project success, while retaining the design as a fundamental objective.

Prior to practicing in Alberta he designed Place De Ville Phase 2 and major housing projects in the Ottawa area. As a Partner of Seabrook, Lithgow and Kujath, Roman was involved in numerous urban developments and housing/commercial projects in the southern USA.

Travelling a long path of success in the delivery of projects of a diversified nature, he specializes in health care employing research and innovation. His holistic and deep understanding of the integrative nature of seniors' housing and extended/long term care facilities resulted in the "Village Concept" for seniors' aging-in-place which was pioneered in Alberta. Roman was also the Architect of record for four acute care hospitals, and over 40 seniors' projects in Alberta, and housing projects throughout Western Canada. Roman provides guidance and is a valuable consultant on all aspects of design, construction and development.
Glen R. Martindale, MRAIC, AAA, B.ARCH, D.TECH
Glen brings over 30 years of design and technical experience in the built form. Joining the Firm in 1997 as an employee, he became a Partner in 2008 and is currently a Principal and the practice lead.

His experience covers a broad range of building classification groups, and he provides a solid foundation in both design and technical building sciences. His specialty in the area of building sciences, and particularly in innovative building envelope technologies plays an important role in ensuring the effective evolution of a project from design to completion of construction.

Glen provides effective solutions and execution of building projects for our clients, the 'hands on' approach that he incorporates into his methodology gives assurance of his involvement from day one to completion of the task. Over the past several years Glen has been involved in the delivery of approximately $200 million dollars of infrastructure for the oil and gas industry.
Janette De Cordova – Operations
Janette has been with RKA for more than 25 years managing the operations of the firm. Her extensive experience has allowed the business to minimize risk while capitalizing on opportunities in the marketplace. Janette is known for her deep understanding of the industry, her attention to detail and her commitment to providing high quality client service. Janette is actively involved in the community. She is currently Treasurer for Edmonton Immigrant Services Association (EISA) and Vice President for Friends and Neighbours.
